A Revista SNUC reúne informações sobre o relevância das Unidades de Conservação (UC) para a manutenção vida no planeta, explica o que é o Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação da Natureza (SNUC) e os desafios para a gestão territorial e detalha metas e acordos internacionais para a sociobiodiversidade.
O DESAFIO
A equipe técnica do Departamento de Áreas Protegidas (DAP) do Ministério do Meio Ambiente e Mudança do Clima (MMA) tem como atribuição zelar pelo SNUC. O sistema foi instituído pela lei federal 9.985/2000. Desde o seu surgimento, analistas ambientais do DAP/MMA enfrentam o desafio de promover o SNUC para diferentes esferas do poder público, do setor privado e da sociedade civil e dar visibilidade às milhares de UC já implementadas - ou em implementação - no território brasileiro.
O que foi feito
Por meio do projeto Consolidação do Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação (SNUC) – LifeWeb, a Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH apoiou a equipe do DAP/MMA na elaboração de uma revista impressa e digital que apresentasse tecnicamente informações e dados sobre a consolidação, a gestão Integrada e a sustentabilidade financeira do sistema. Porém, a publicação também deveria ser capaz de contar essas histórias para um público não especialista em conservação da sociobiodiversidade. Para isso, trabalharam na orientação textual da revista a jornalista Thaís Schneider e o consultor Maurício Boff e, na diagramação e projeto gráfico, a designer Mariana Gil.

The Revista SNUC (SNUC Magazine) gathers information about the importance of Conservation Units (UC) for maintaining life on the planet. It explains what the National System of Nature Conservation Units (SNUC) is, discusses the challenges for territorial management, and details goals and international agreements for sociobiodiversity.
The Challenge
The technical team of the Department of Protected Areas (DAP) of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA) of Brazil is responsible for overseeing the SNUC. The system was established by federal law 9.985/2000. Since its inception, environmental analysts from DAP/MMA have faced the challenge of promoting SNUC to different spheres of the public sector, private sector, and civil society, and raising awareness of the thousands of UCs already implemented—or under implementation—in Brazilian territory.
WHAT WAS DONE
Through the project Consolidation of the National System of Conservation Units (SNUC) – LifeWeb, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supported the DAP/MMA team in creating a printed and digital magazine that technically presents information and data about the consolidation, integrated management, and financial sustainability of the system. However, the publication was also intended to convey these stories to a non-specialist audience in sociobiodiversity conservation. To achieve this, journalist Thaís Schneider and consultant Maurício Boff provided textual guidance for the magazine, while designer Mariana Gil worked on layout and graphic design.
